Our staff continues to do its best to refine Tutorz’ services making it easier to find reliable, affordable, and capable tutors. Because of this Tutorz is starving for your input. If you have something to say about Tutorz leave a comment at the end of this blog. Below are some questions that we have a particular interest in.

Would you recommend Tutorz to a friend or family member?

What is one thing that Tutorz should be doing differently?

How long did it take for a tutor to respond to your request?

Did you find a tutor that improved your (your child’s) learning skills?

How did you hear about us?

How was your experience with the tutor you chose?

Are you receiving a significant amount of tutoring requests?

Thanks for your time, we are excited to hear from you and anxious to improve Tutorz.

Tutorz has done an amazing job with giving a stream of leads. My experience has been that the leads come in back to back on almost a daily basis. No other online tutoring services web site has even come close. The management is great about keeping in touch, and is the only company that seems to really care that the tutors (not just the students) are happy with the service. I’m very pleased with it, and would certainly recommend it to anyone without thinking twice!!

Thank you for enlightening me regarding my sons tutoring. I have already contacted Shayla Hanson to arrange a meeting. She is in Wheaton, 7 miles from our home. If you look her up you’ll see what a special person she is. Singing lessons and piano lessons are a long term commitment and the choice I make now will affect my son for years to come. I am very greatful for your kindness. I was unaware of that sight and I feel like she is just what we were looking for. November 30, 2007 by John, Warrenville, IL

About the Author

Kristin Majda is a freelance author and educational consultant residing in sunny Santa Paula, California with her husband and two kids. Her background includes working as a technical writer and trainer within the software industry, and teaching high school and adult education science and math. She earned a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in professional writing from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1997, and her teaching credentials from Cal State Northridge in 2005. She is currently in the process of earning a dual masters degree in biotechnology andauthor family business administration (MBA) from Cal State Channel Islands. She attends classes in the evening and works part time out of her home so that she can remain actively involved in the education of her teenage son and the social, emotional, and cognitive development of her toddler daughter. Despite academically performing above grade level, her son struggles with ADHD and the emotional consequences of a system that does not know how to appropriately educate these children. As a result, Mrs. Majda has also become an outspoken advocate for the appropriate education of special-needs children.

I sit down once a month to do the bills while my husband checks the oil and other fluids in our cars. Once a week he mows the lawn, and every six months the whole family goes to the dentist. Just like your car and your house and your health and pretty much everything else of value in life, your child’s education requires ongoing routine maintenance.

The goal is to examine your child’s education on a continuous basis looking for areas of strength and identifying areas that need remediation.

Remediation is the process in which a student is re-taught concepts previously covered in class and allowed to learn them at his or her own pace. It is accomplished via tutoring, which may be provided by the teacher or by an outside provider hired by the school or parent. Unfortunately most teachers are not able to provide very much one-on-one time and schools offer only limited tutoring options usually reserved for the neediest of students. This leaves it up to parents to be on top of things and to know when and how to hire a tutor. This guide was developed in an effort to help parents realize when it’s time to get that help. more…
